Job Title:                         Support Worker

Location:                         South Woodford, E18 2AN.

Hours:                             37.5 hours per week

Salary:                             £8.80 per hour

Information:                   This role is shift work. Driver, full UK driving licence, is desired but not essential

What do our Support Workers do?

Supporting someone isn’t just personal care; it’s so much more.

Cleveland House, is a residential service supporting adults aged 18+ with learning disabilities, mental health needs, autism spectrum conditions and behaviours that may challenge. It is a warm, homely property comprised of 11 en-suite bedrooms and one semi-independent flat. Individuals can enjoy socialising with others in the communal spaces which include the living room, dining room, a quieter lounge and kitchen.

People can also enjoy relaxing in the private garden, which is often used for a variety of leisure activities and entertainment in the summer. The underground station and local bus stop are also within easy walking distance and provide excellent links to Central London.

Some of the many activities we support our residents with are:

  • Support to maintain and keep a clean home
  • Support with cooking skills
  • Developing independence skills in shopping and managing money
  • Going out for coffee
  • Support to attend local colleges / day services
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Going out for walks
  • Picnics at parks

What experience do you need?

You don’t need to have experience to be a good Support Worker. If you are caring, kind and want to work in a job that is genuinely rewarding, this is for you.

You’ll need to have great communication skills and be comfortable making decisions. A basic level of English and Math is also required.
