What do our Support Workers do?

Supporting someone isn’t just personal care; it’s so much more.

Our Support Workers are focused on active listening, meaningful engagement and ensuring people lead full, healthy and active lives.

The Paddocks is a specialist residential service for adults aged 18+ with learning disabilities and additional complex needs including autism spectrum conditions and challenging behaviour.

The team undertakes specialist autism and preventing and managing challenging behaviour training which enables them to support people with these needs to take control of their own lives. Our Total Communication approach also enables staff to implement individualised communication strategies for service users with severe communication and sensory difficulties.

What experience do you need?

You don’t need to have experience to be a good Support Worker. If you are caring, kind and want to work in a job that is genuinely rewarding, this is for you.

You’ll need to have great communication skills and be comfortable making decisions. A basic level of English and Math is also required.
