What do our Senior Support Workers do?

Supporting someone isn’t just personal care; it’s so much more. As a Senior Support Worker you will support the day to day running of the service, complete handovers, spot checks and have a proactive approach to solving problems.

Although you will lead, coach, mentor and support a dedicated staff team, you will also provide hands on support and will support individuals with day to day activities such as social activities, sports and hobbies along with general household duties and supporting with administration of medication.

Our Senior Support Workers are focused on active listening, meaningful engagement and ensuring people lead full, healthy and active lives.

What experience do you need?

Experience of working in an Autism, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health sector environment as a Shift Leader, Senior Carer, Senior Healthcare Assistant, Senior Care Assistant, Senior Care Worker, Senior Dom Care Worker, Senior Health Carer, Senior Residential Care Worker would be advantageous. An NVQ/Diploma L2 or 3 in Health and Social Care is desirable but not essential.

You’ll need to have great communication skills and be comfortable making decisions. A basic level of English and Maths is also required and a genuine passion for care.
