Job Title:                         Senior Support Worker

Location:                         Sittingbourne, ME10 4JA.

Hours:                             37.5 hours per week

Salary:                             £9.50 per hour

Information:                   This role is shift work. Driver, full UK driving licence, is desired not essential.

What do our Support Workers do?

Supporting someone isn’t just personal care; it’s so much more.  

Canterbury Road is a 24-hour, supported living service for adults aged 18+ with learning disabilities, autism spectrum conditions, behaviours that may challenge and/or epilepsy.

Staff support and encourage individuals who wish to participate in college courses, work/voluntary placement of their choice. People also have access to a wide range of leisure activities such as cycling, trips to the cinema, music classes, day centre visits, swimming, arts and crafts and any other additional activities they want to take part in.

As a Senior Support Worker you will be expected to lead shifts and assist with coaching and inducting of new staff to the service.  You will also be required to participate in the on call rota.  You will write daily reports on activities, as well as devising and updating care plans and undertaking risk assessments for the people we support.

What experience do you need?

We want our Senior Support Workers to share our vision to ensure that ‘every moment has potential’ for the people we support to learn new skills and to achieve their goals.

An NVQ/Diploma L2 or 3 in Health and Social Care is also required, and significant experience supporting adults with learning disabilities.

You’ll need to have great communication skills and be comfortable making decisions. A basic level of English and Math is also required.
