Description

We are looking for a Welfare Benefits Controller based in our Regional Tredomen office in Ystrad Mynach Hengoed. The purpose of your role will be to manage the accounting relating to the People We Support (PWS) and their benefits and report everything back to the Welfare Rights Manager.

Duties will include:

  • Accounting accurately for all transactions in relations to PWS benefits with clear understanding of all the ins and outs
  • Checking payments to be authorised for the PWS and to other parties.
  • Liaising with the Service Managers in relation to any updates to benefits
  • Preparing journal entries, and reconciling accounts monthly
  • Making payments to PWS and other parties if they leave the service
  •  Bank reconciliation, posting and balancing and reports on debts and credits

  • Undertaking of capital reviews and effects on benefit entitlements.

Advanced excel (Vlookups/pivots) is essential for this role and ideally you will have at least 2 years’ experience in job roles such as; Accounts Assistant / Assistant Accountant / Book Keeper / Finance Officer / Accountant and be AAT qualified.

Experience of Microsoft Dynamics GP is desirable and knowledge of Welfare Benefits or Social Care is also desirable but not essential.
