Position: Support Workers 

Location: Hazelwood House

Salary: £8.30 rising to £8.40 after a year

Hours: 37.5 including some weekend work and sleep in shifts

We are looking for support workers for our lovely residential home in East Cowes, Isle of Wight. We are paying £8.30 an hour which will rise to £8.40 an hour after a years service and have a full time position available.

About Us

The team at Hazelwood provides 24 hour support to adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. The staff support is structured to meet individual requirements. Community participation and involvement is actively encouraged through person centred planning, to meet individual goals and aspirations, which keep the person safe and happy. Hazelwood House is a detached house built in 1904 by a local builder. It has gardens that are mostly laid to lawn with shrubs and fruit trees, which may be of particular interest to people who are a keen gardeners. There are three patio areas. One of which incorporates a barbecue. There is also a large summer house.

About you

If you want to make a difference in someones life then you will fit in nicely and if you want to encourage individuals to live their best life then this it the job for you! The most important thing is that you are passionate about what you do and compassionate towards the people we support. It would be preferable if you drove but not necessary. Otherwise we ask that you are flexible in the hours you can work, are avavilable to work every other weekend (where possible) and sleep in shifts, have good spoken and written English and are willing to learn and develop in your role.

Experience is desirable but not necessary as we have an excellent training programme in place!
