Salary: £8.30 + Benefits

Hours: 7.5 hours – part time

Summary of Role


As an Activities Coordinator at Regard Group, you'll help to create a stimulating environment that enables us to deliver exceptional all-round care and support for our residents. Our ethos is all about celebrating life, so you'll help to devise imaginative, fun and motivational activities that suit every interest and ability. An extremely rewarding role, part of your time as an Activities Coordinator will be spent getting to know our residents and their families before you create tailored activities programmes focused on maximising everyone's wellbeing, independence and social engagement. About Us

Town Farm Workshop is an innovative project from Regard. We provide care and support to adults, young people and children with Learning Difficulties, Mental Health needs and Acquired Brain Injury.

Located in the Dorset village of Sixpenny Handley, Town Farm Workshop offers activities including crafts, gardening, horse riding, pottery, weaving and swimming.

We offer a fixed weekly schedule of activities (subject to adjustment for seasonal activities, such as sailing, or where community activities we access may follow school terms and holidays). Using our schedule, each individual creates and follows a weekly timetable of their chosen activities on an ongoing basis, subject to regular reviews during the year. We develop and include new activities in response to appropriate requests or needs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Actively seeks links with the local community and other agencies e.g. council, to identify opportunities and activities that support Service User goals.
  • To plan and manage the Activities for Service Users, utilising resources to provide support that is person-centred and promotes; dignity, independence, empowerment and citizenship to the people we support
  • Works to agreed authority level, takes responsibility to monitor and/or complete delegated tasks/areas effectively, reporting back to the Service Manager.
  • Demonstrates Regard’s values through own conduct with Service Users, visitors, care professionals etc.
  • Works within Regard’s policies, systems, processes, and regulatory requirement. Knows where to find information.
  • Understands the role responsibilities including the principles of social inclusion.
  • Manages own workload effectively within the given timeframe. 
  • Evaluates own performance, learns from experience. 
  • Is aware of signs of negative stress and its triggers, acts to manage it.
  • Takes responsibility to complete delegated tasks effectively, able to apply the principles of social inclusion. 
  • Works on own initiative, takes appropriate action to complete work on shift.
  • Demonstrates Regard’s values through own conduct with Service Users and those that are significant to them.

 

Person Specification


You'll need to be warm, empathetic and personable to join us as an Activities Coordinator. Your organisational skills and driven mind-set mean you always get things done and make things happen. Meanwhile, your infectious enthusiasm and creative approach will inspire our residents and staff to get involved in activities both within the home and in the local community. Any similar experience would be ideal, but it isn't essential - especially because we'll make sure you have the training you need to develop your skills and progress your career with us.
