What do our Support Workers do?
Supporting someone isn’t just personal care; it’s so much more.
Oaklands is a supported living service for adults aged 20+ with moderate learning disabilities, mental health needs and complex needs including behaviours that may challenge.
At Oaklands, people are supported to take part in a range of leisure activities that will increase social, communication and independence skills. Some of these activities include day centre visits, gardening in the service gardens, swimming, baking and cooking classes, and English and maths workshops.
What experience do you need?
You don’t need to have experience to be a good Support Worker. If you are caring, kind and want to work in a job that is genuinely rewarding, this is for you.
You’ll need to have great communication skills and be comfortable making decisions. A basic level of English and Math is also required.
