Description

New to care or experienced? Join us as a Relief Support Worker in Bath! You’ll be based at a day centre supporting people who are deaf, hard of hearing or with dual-sensory loss and additional needs.

Location: Bath

Relief Support Worker position

£8.91 per hour

Additional Information: Provide cover when required, covering hours between Monday to Friday, 9-5pm. Ability to drive is preferred but not essential.

Your new job: 

Achieve together is one of the UK’s leading providers of support for people who with learning disabilities, autism, deafness and associated complex needs. 

You will be working as part of a friendly team. Supporting vulnerable individuals who are deaf, have dual sensory loss as well as experiencing a learning disability, mental health difficulties and or autism. As a Relief Support Worker you will play a vital part in of the day centre, providing an onsite and peripatetic service to people living in the surrounding areas, offering educational and work-focused opportunities for adults who are deaf, hard of hearing or with dual-sensory loss and additional needs.

This may include: 

  • Support in developing life-skills in creative ways, including art, ceramics, woodwork, music, drama, road safety, budgeting and other holistic projects.
  • Provide opportunities to socialise, assist in preparing events
  • Planning and engaging in activities 
  • Complying with health and safety requirements

You! 

You will ideally have some relatable experience, such as a background in Education or Care experience and also have a creative skillset to benefit the people we support and contribute towards meaningful activities. You might be a keen artist, play an instrument or are woodworking enthusiast. We employ our Relief Support Workers based on their values and the willingness to learn skills in British Sign Language, understanding Deaf culture and promote personalised care.
