Specialist Nurse Practitioner

Location: Brighton to Worthing
Contract: Part time 

Purpose of the role

  • To enhance clinical expertise and oversight of specific homes which are supporting people with complex health and postural care needs.
  • To provide team members supporting people with complex health needs, specialist training, guidance, advice and support providing competency assessments to evidence this to enable team members to fulfil their role well.
  • This role will add to our internal expertise, to ensure skilled and confident support teams, to reassure people we support, external professionals and families – leading to improved health outcomes for people supported, enhanced quality of and duration of life.
  • To provide the best specialist support, inspiring a generation to lead happy healthy and meaningful lives.

Skills you must have

  • The postholder must be a Registered Nurse Adult, Children or Learning Disability Nurse, maintaining current and continued professional registration with the NMC.
  • Experience supporting people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and complex health needs.
  • Clinical skills experience e.g. NIV, Gastrostomy Care and Enteral Nutrition, Oral Suction, Stoma Care etc.
  • Work flexibly to support services, which may require working outside of ‘office hours’ at times.
  • Willingness and ability to travel around Brighton and West Sussex.
  • Creative approaches to provide advice and information in an engaging manner through the use of workshops, events and technology.
