Description

Role name: Welfare Rights Support Partner 

Contract type: Full Time 

Hours: 37.5 per week (9-5)

Salary: £25k +

The Role:

By joining Achieve together as Welfare Rights Support Partner you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of people we support.

You will provide support in relation to Welfare Rights Appointeeships, Case Working and Payment Control.  

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support the Welfare Rights team to hand back all appointeeships to an alternative party (who is not connected to Achieve together)
  • Support people we support and their families to find a suitable alternative
  • Work to create a clear separation between care and support provision and the legal management of people’s finances in line with best practice guidance
  • Providing advice and guidance to all of the people we support and their relatives to ensure that people we support have working financial budget plans and to be as independent as possible with regards to their finances
  • Work with the Regional Managers and Service Managers to relinquish appointeeship for individuals.

Essential Requirements:

  • Basic Welfare Benefits knowledge is desirable
  • Great communication skills - you will need to communicate clearly and respectfully with vulnerable people and make sure they understand the options which are open to them.
  • Patience, empathy and being able to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Office skills like using a computer and filing, so you can update and track records.
  • Organisation and self-management skills.
  • Being able to stay calm and resilient in challenging situations.

Experience of working in care home settings is desirable
