About the people and their Day Service

Within the day service you will support individuals and group to grow and achieve their goals. Our fast paced and energetic day service runs 5 days a week with additional Saturday activities twice monthly. You will have the opportunity to support people out in the local community in activities around swimming, trampolining, cycling etc

As a Activities Support Worker at Penny Meadow Life Skills You will be expected to support in the following areas:  

This exciting role involves supporting people throughout the day to take part in activities and sessions both within the day centre and out in the local community.  Driving is a part of this role, we provide transport using a 9-seater mini bus. Morning and afternoon transport is provided, as well as transport to our community-based activities. With training, you will be confident in delivering high‑quality workshops across a wide range of areas, including life skills, cooking, health and fitness, creativity, music, gardening, sensory activities and community access. You’ll prepare and organise engaging resources that encourage learning, independence and active participation, while using IT skills to create worksheets, presentations, book events and build visual evidence for portfolios.

The role also includes supporting ASDAN accredited courses, helping individuals work towards qualifications and maintaining accurate Achievement Journals to evidence progress, goals and milestones. You’ll be fully involved in all activities, acting as a positive role model, and supporting swimming sessions, personal care, cleaning duties, and special events such as shows, awards evenings and family days, including some evenings and weekends.
