About the people and their home

The people at Bedwas Road enjoy a variety of activities. We go to the local pub for a game of pool and like to play doubles, the men who live at Bedwas road against the staff. Often the house team wins but sometimes we let the staff win. This gives us the opportunity to enjoy a few drinks and catch up with each other. Even though we live in the same house we all like to do our own thing, so when we get together, we like have a good old chat and put the world to right. We also enjoy having barbeques in the garden. We bought a lovely big barbeque and we all chip in to buy food. The weather has been really nice lately, so we have been able to have more time sitting in the garden.

Bedwas road is a good place to gain more independence and daily life skills. One member of the home that has lived here for nearly 10 years is moving out into his own accommodation later this year. This has always been a dream and goal of his and with support from the staff he has gained a lot of independence around using the right form of transport to attend his activities. There are two other gentlemen who live at Bedwas road and enjoy doing different activities in and out of the house. They like to go to the cinema, out for day trips to Bristol Zoo, Cardiff Bay and much more.
